After that, things moved at a rapid pace for us—many projects, trade shows, and topics have kept us quite busy over the past few months. That makes us all the more pleased to finally announce the winners of our beta test today.

First place goes to the tester with the most search queries during the testing phase. As a reward for their hard work, they’ll receive an additional 10% special discount on their next order.

Last week, OBTEGO AG celebrated its annual summer party—and had several reasons to celebrate. The company grew by two employees last year; since the last summer party, a total of four new colleagues have joined the team.

We were especially pleased to celebrate two five-year anniversaries: Sabrina Hollmayer and Maria de Gutsche have been part of OBTEGO for five years now and have made a significant impact on the company through their work and dedication.

We celebrated with a barbecue right here at our office. No one let the stormy weather dampen the good mood; we simply huddled together wherever it stayed dry. It was a lovely afternoon that showed once again that at OBTEGO, it’s not just about the work—team spirit matters too.

On July 21, 2026, here in Altheim, we focused on a topic that usually goes unnoticed in day-to-day operations but is of central importance to us: the transport of hazardous materials and load securing on road vehicles.

To that end, we held a basic training seminar at our office for colleagues from production, warehousing, shipping, and sales.

The background: Part of our product range is subject to hazardous materials regulations. Anyone who fills, packages, labels, or ships these products bears a responsibility that extends far beyond the gates of their own facility.

The first session focused on the transport of dangerous goods: the obligations and responsibilities of those involved, the classification of the goods, the selection of the appropriate packaging, and the required documentation. This was supplemented by a review of the driver, equipment, and transport unit, as well as an overview of the applicable exemptions—a topic that frequently raises questions in practice.

The second session focused on load securing on road vehicles in accordance with VDI 2700 et seq.: from the legal framework to the formation of load units and the suitability of various transport vehicles and means of transport, through to the inspection of the load.

We deliberately conduct this training every year. Regulations change, teams change, and when it comes to safety, routine is no substitute for knowledge—it’s actually a risk.

From June 24 to 26, 2026, we had a booth at the EPF in Feuchtwangen—and can look back on three successful days at the trade show.

Despite the heat wave and record-breaking temperatures, many visitors were not deterred from stopping by our booth. The focus was on our products and our app, which we were able to present on-site and demonstrate in practical use.

We were particularly pleased that so many familiar faces from our network, as well as numerous new contacts, made their way to our booth. During the many technical discussions, there was great interest in our solutions—from specific application questions to technical details, the exchange with you was consistently engaging. It is precisely this direct contact with our users that we value so much at trade shows like EPF—it provides us with valuable insights for the further development of our products.

At OBTEGO, we face a question every day that many operators of production and logistics facilities are familiar with: The floor is dusty, the surface is worn and damaged—so what now?

The standard approach is to tear up the floor and pour new concrete. This means weeks of downtime, high costs, and a lot of noise and mess while operations continue. Yet in many cases, this isn’t necessary at all. If the subfloor is still load-bearing and free of serious structural damage, with no significant settlement, hollow areas, or serious structural damage—then a concrete floor can often still be rehabilitated and permanently protected.

The process: Treat the substrate using diamond grinding technology, repair any imperfections, and apply our R-Series silicate sealants. These are also available in colored versions and penetrate deep into the concrete matrix, where they chemically react with the free hydrated lime to form a stable, pore-sealing calcium silicate hydrate gel. The surface is compacted and hardened from the inside out—dust-free, abrasion-resistant, and significantly easier to maintain. The result is a surface that differs little from a new concrete surface in terms of durability and appearance—but is ready in a fraction of the time. Ready for use after 24–48 hours, no demolition, no prolonged downtime.

While the product already provides good slip resistance (Class R10) on standard concrete floors as standard, we have now received official certification for the even safer Class R11. We achieved this increase in safety by adding our OBTEGO Concrete Coat Si AntiSlip Agent. The product was tested in accordance with the current DIN EN 16165 standard, which precisely defines the slip resistance required for floors in work areas or public buildings.

The key feature here is the significantly increased coefficient of static friction: Unlike many standard coatings, which often leave the floor surface slippery, our system ensures that the surface remains grippy. For you, this means: Your shoes maintain a firm grip even in wet conditions, the risk of accidents is reduced, and you’re on the safe side when it comes to building inspections.

It’s that time of year again: The EPF in Feuchtwangen is opening its doors—and we at OBTEGO AG will be there in person as exhibitors.

The main focus at our booth this year is floor restoration. We see it time and time again: old industrial floors, screeds riddled with holes, or uneven concrete surfaces are far too often completely torn out, even though this is neither necessary nor cost-effective.
